Shirley finally manages to get her subject to pose for pictures at the Tiger Balm Gardens. The gardens have of course since been demolished (let's face it, the CCP were never going to let that place - riddled with pro-Nationalist symbolism - go unmolested following the handover) and replaced by "The Legend". Fortunately, the mansion was spared (nothing overtly anti-Communist on it I expect) and is currently being renovated to be used as some sort of conservatoire.
You can never have too many pictures of this place, so here's a whole bunch.

I love your extra information. Here is what we have found on the subject

Thanks for the link Anthony. Great stuff, it will be helpful when i get around to covering Jason King. It's on my to do list.
In the next to the bottom picture there are two sailors standing at the top of the ramp with their backs to the camera. I am the taller sailor on the right. We were sailors off the DD-808 Dennis J. Buckley that volunteered to be extras when they were filming in Hong Kong. In the series the two of us are seen walking down the ramp, facing the camera, as Shirley walks up the ramp.
Thanks for commenting, Unknown. I shall now dig out my discs and see if I can get a grab of the later bit you mention. Do you have any particular memories of this shoot that you can share?
