Sadly, there is some scaffolding obscuring the view on the current Streetview picture of this location, however, look at the window under the tarpaulin and you can see it's the same pattern that can be seen behind the fruit vendor on the top screen grab. We haven't been out this way since Friends.

It's rare that I can claim I could've identified a location without any research at all, unless it's somewhere blindingly obvious like TST. That Towngas facility with its gasometers, though, I must have walked past dozens of times while seeking out new angles from which to photograph or just watch the planes landing at Kai Tak. And it's a very memorable facility, for how unusual it was to see somewhere that densely populated.
When you stop to think about it, they really dodged a bullet having a gasometer within less than a thousand feet of the centerline of an extremely busy airport runway. As far as I can remember, though, they only once had a crash on that side of the runway -- usually you ended up in the nullah or off the end of the runway in the harbour -- and so they managed to get away with that risk unscathed.
The Heavy Lift Lockheed Hercules which crashed on that side of the runway was taking off and crashed further down around the halfway point, so went into the water rather than buildings, thankfully.
personally I think they spent 50 years dodging several bullets per day given the proximity of Kowloon City, but I guess in the earlier stages of the airport, the planes were smaller and carried less fuel and passengers. But still...
