Five Golden Dragons - Bob Cummings (1967) - Ocean Terminal. Kowloon

Someone was posting screencaps from this film on Facebook the other day and it reminded me that it was on my 'to-do' pile, so why not make a start now.

The film was made in 1967 and was directed by Jeremy Summers who also directed The Vengeance of Fu Manchu - also shot in HK the same year, featuring two of the actors from this film and my next film on the list.

Anyway, without further ado, the first location on the list is a newly built Ocean Terminal. Although the film was released in 1967, it looks that the filming took place closer to 1966. I'll explain why in a later post but for the time being it means that Ocean Terminal had only just opened in March 1966. Apparently, the Pier One Bar was under the steps that lead up to the first floor of the mall - Harbour City.

In case you are wondering, the ship is called the Oriental Pearl and was at the time owned by the Orient Overseas Line. It was originally owned by American Export Lines and called the Exeter, before being sold to OOL (owned by C.Y Tung) in 1965, renamed, and turned into a trans-Pacific cruise liner.
