I try to mark every location as closely as I can with a Google Maps Marker at the bottom of the post. However, I've noticed that Google Maps is quite fickle when it comes to saving the marker placement and often moves it away from my very specific location and snaps to a nearby building. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. I don't know how to solve this. It's quite frustrating when often a location needs to be very precise (such as on an otherwise featureless hillside). For buildings with multiple floors (i.e. most buildings), Google just appears to pick a random floor when all I want to do is mark the building/place as a whole. If a specific floor or room is relevant then I usually mention it in the post rather than rely on the random nature of Google markers. So, if you see the marker attached to a specific floor, it is purely unintended on my part.
Anyway, just a heads up as to why sometimes the markers may not be placed exactly where you might expect. If anyone knows if this is a feature or a bug (or just me) please feel free to comment below. Any questions about places where the marker might seem way off, just let me know.
