Weiße Fracht für Hongkong - Dietmar Schönherr (1963) - University Lodge, University Drive

At one point Horst Frank drives his car into a rather stylish house that is supposed to an orphanage. In reality it was University Lodge situated at the junction between University Drive an Kotewall Road.

The house - the residence for the Vice-Chancellor of HKU - is built on the former site of Victoria Battery and one of the battery's legacies is the rather large gun that still sits prominently in the garden. You can read a bit more about it on Gwulo.com. Comments on that page also mention the lodge was built around 1965, but as we can see from the film it was already there in 1963 and, in fact, there is also a photo on Gwulo that shows the building was also already there in 1961. The actual year of construction seems to still be elusive. Any ideas?
