Bullet in the Head - Tony Leung Chiu-wai (1990) - Sai Ning Street, Kennedy Town

There are at least two endings to Bullet in the Head. The version I watched is the shorter one that ends in the boardroom as Ben confronts Paul in front of his colleagues, but the far more spectacular and John Woo-esque ending involves the pair getting into a car chase. One of the streets used is Sai Ning Street in Kennedy Town. Dan Thomas did all the heavy lifting on this location when he tracked it down many years ago for his Hong Kong on Film blog.

The white Mercedes in the final scenes where the crash into each other repeatedly was mine!
My ex worked for John Wu at the time, and the car belonged to my father who passed away in October 1988.
I always have a laugh watching the ending, knowing I'd driven that car many times, but only have one photo of it outside our house in Shatin.

brilliant stuff, and its memory now lives on forever. If you read my chat with Neil MacDonald from Salon films, you'll know he lent his Mk3 Jaguar for the main car in that film and as far as I know he shipped it back to the UK when he retired and was paying for it to be restored. Sadly, I've not heard from him since I left facebook. (In case Neil is reading this)...
