The World of Suzie Wong - William Holden (1960) - Star Ferry Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui

Immediately after crossing the bus terminus, Holden enters the TST Star Ferry pier. Although it looks as though the entrance he used is the one that is now used for entering the harbour tour ferry. I could be wrong as I rarely use the ferry these days - if I go to HK Island it's almost invariably to Quarry Bay over to the east.

Well, I think this is real, checking the first pic I can easily recognice the steps in TST Star Ferry who takes you to Wan Chai in the upper deck( the one to Hong Kong side uses the lower deck).
During the last years I stayed in HK I remember this place taken over by Falung Dafa people who always where there in the morning with a lot of horrible pics & advertisement.
from 1998 to 2005, everytime I was in Hong Kong I used to stay in Mt Davis jockey Club Youth Hostel (Hong Kong side) so everytime I took the star Ferry to go to Kowloon side I felt a kind of magic in the enviroment. I loved star Ferry. Then at the night timr I did the reversal trip almost daily. This feeling was gone when from 2006when I decided to rent a room in Kowloon side & I didn't use the star ferry so much as I did in the past.

I'm inclined to agree Jesus. I think it's the real one. Although there are some studio shot scenes following that are su8pposed to be on one of the ferries (when he talks to Suzie for the first time - the background is an obvious back projection). Still even on the back projection shots the film used for the projection shows some interesting sites/sights.
