Beyond Hypothermia - Jacklyn Wu Chien-lien (1996) - Times Square, Causeway Bay

When the South Korean enforcer arrives in Hong Kong, he is met in one of the Times Square offices by some local contacts who provide him with some weapons. The scene starts off with a view out towards Happy Valley and Morrison Hill Road/Canal Road Flyover.

Crossing Hennessy - Jacky Cheung (2010) - Morrison Hill Road, Wanchai

After their coffee and walk, the pair stop at the bus stop so Oi LIn can catch a bus ride home. This particular stop is located on Morrison Hill Road, in front of what is currently the "South Pacific Hotel" (no doubt it will change in a few years) in #23 behind. The same stop also pops up in the closing credits.

Bamboo Gods and Iron Men - James Iglehart (1974) - Morrison Hill Road, Wanchai

The last post for this film and the pair are staying at what sounds like the "Shangri-la Hotel" when they give the delivery instructions to the antiques shop owner. But actually this film precedes any official Shangri-La Hotel being set up in Hong Kong and the hotel we see for the establishing shot was the 帆船酒店 - Caravelle Hotel - on Morrison Hill Road. After it closed, the building was, for a long time, used by a large hotpot restaurant before being restored back to a hotel circa 2011 as the Vela Hotel. I'm not completely sure what its current status is following the pandemic but I understand it has closed again. If you saw my Election posts then this is the building that Big D and associates are arrested in front of.

The taller building at the back right is the Yue King Building (still around) and the pinkish low-rise building on the far right was once part of the Hong Kong Volunteers (aka Royal HK Regiment) HQ. You may or may not remember that place being used as the main Police Station in Police Story. That, sadly, has gone.

Election - Simon Yam (2005) - Morrison Hill Road, Wanchai

The scene where Big D and his cohorts are arrested and lined up on the pavement outside the venue they were in was filmed at the corner of Morrison Hill Road and Sung Tak Street. You can just about see the painted advert for Aji Ichiban (a Japanese sweets and snack store) that is on the Redana Building in the background (bottom image). The building they are ejected from is now the Vela Boutique Hotel - although at the time of filming appears to have housed a restaurant or karaoke club (it's not clear from the film).
