Operation Lipstick - Cheng Pei-pei (1967) - Port Shelter, Sai Kung

Following a big fracas on the Star Ferry (a studio set) as the baddies attempt to steal a statuette they believe contains the professor's microfilm, the statuette is tossed over board and Lee and Zhang leap in after it.

The next day they can be seen drying off aboard a fishing junk out in Port Shelter. Their exact location is on the north side of Sharp Island next to where the public pier is now located.

La Fine Dell'innocenza - Annie Belle (1976) - Port Shelter, Sai Kung

The boat travels all the way to Port Shelter where it puts down anchor in the water just to the north of Sharp Island. There's a brief shot of the boat with the Sai Kung mountains in the background and Tai Chan Chau to the right. A similar angle can also be seen earlier in the film when Annie first notices the group of monks and that appears to have been filmed on the rocky beach of Tai Chan Chau.

Challenge of the Tiger - Bruce Le (1982) - Baddies Hideout Part 1 - Sharp Island, Port Shelter

Bruce Le, obviously not content with just trying to fight like his namesake has also thrown in a sort of homage to Enter the Dragon by having the baddies hide out on an island somewhere. Rather than actually find an island with a fortress on it (granted, quite difficult without a Hollywood budget) he has opted instead to portray it with some rather unconvincing edits of three separate locations.

Location 1, the island, is actually a shot of Sharp Island in Port Shelter. The camera then zooms in towards the island's ridgeline before a quick cut to location number 2.

The Million Eyes of Sumuru - George Nader (1967) - Hap Mun Bay, Sharp Island

Well, the film makers were certainly very consistent in their portrayal of Sumuru's island hideaway. We've already seen some scenes from the north part of Sharp Island as the entry and exit point for the island and later in the film when the police stage a raid they actually sneak in from another direction - Hap Mun Bay at the southern part of Sharp Island.

There are couple of quick scenes filmed around the north part of Sharp Island as we see the police launch making its approach.

But the approach to the beach seen from the boat shows us Hap Mun (also known as Half Moon Bay) followed by shots looking back out to the sea from the point of view of the beach.

You can see a good comparison of the view in the lowest screen grab with this picture over on Panoramio. The peaks in the distance appear to be Buffalo Hill and West Buffalo Hill.

The Million Eyes of Sumuru - George Nader (1967) - Sharp Island, Port Shelter

In the film, the main baddie is the eponymous Sumuru who lives on an island in Hong Kong somewhere. Where that island is supposed to be is not sure but in reality all of the shots we see when various people are getting on and off boats at a concrete jetty, we are looking at the jetty that was (and looks like it still is) located at the northern end of Kiu Tsui Chau aka Sharp Island, next to Kiu Tsui beach.

The top picture is looking roughly north from Sharp Island with Pak Sha Chau behind the boat and the landscape behind is where Sai Sha Road comes into Sai Kung from the north.

The following shot shows the same place but this time looking more east as the person walks up the ramp. The hills in the background are part of the islands northern coast.

The following two shots are looking the other way from the west up to the north and the second picture clearly shows the recognisable ridgeline that sits above Sai Kung town centre at the right of the picture with Pyramid Hill on the right of the girls shoulder.
