Now you see it
Now you don't
The ridge line at the back belongs to the north west coast of Lantau Island and I believe that, unfortunately, that lovely unspoilt view at the back will eventually have the HK-Macau-Zhuhai Bridge running across it. Just another example of how the Govt wants to wreck HK's beautiful landscape with costly white elephant projects that only benefit their industry cronies.

Nice Roller, and still fairly new at the time. I believe that's a 2003-2012 Rolls Royce Phantom, which the Peninsula has well over a dozen of. I actually wondered if it might have been a Peninsula car, but looking on Google it seems like they have MP plates, not HK.
IIRC an HK plate is a very old plate indeed -- I think it was the first alphanumeric plate for the territory, before XX and AA, AB, AC, etc. That suggests it belongs to somebody who's old money and has kept the plate across their vehicles for many, many decades.
