SPL - Donnie Yen (2005) - Grand Hyatt Rooftop, Wanchai

The various panning shots of Hong Kong Island as well as the rooftop scenes where Ma and Chung talk about their plan to return the money to Wong Po were filmed on the roof of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Wanchai. It's not the first time this hotel's roof has been used for filming, but the SPL scenes appear to have been shot on the top most tier of the hotel building.

Something Good - Luca Barbareschi (2013) - Grand Hyatt Hotel, Wanchai

Onto another hotel for the next location and this time it's the Grand Hyatt in Wanchai. This isn't surprising given that the production was filming on the nearby attached HKCEC new wing for many scenes. This hotel has appeared a couple of times previously on this blog for the major final scenes of Largo Winch and for a bar scene from Je l'amais.

In this film it is the venue where Matteo meets up with his local business partner for some drinks before heading on to a restaurant with some (apparent) ladies of the night.

Je l'aimais - Daniel Auteuil (2009) - Grand Hyatt Hotel, Wanchai

The hotel that Pierre is staying at for his business trip is the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Wanchai. He walks in to the lobby after having a wander around the streets and turns to see Mathilde waiting for him at the bar. The same hotel lobby was used a year previously for the filming of Largo Winch.

Largo Winch - Tomer Sisley (2008) - Grand Hyatt Hotel, Wanchai

Hotel number 2 - although I don't recall a specific reference to it in the film. This one features extensively because its roof terrace is where much of the final action takes place. However, before we get to that bit we also get a quick peep inside including the rather impressive lobby.

Here is the view from the roof terrace. I assume this is actually accessible to the guests but there is always the chance it is used for maintenance and was simply spruced up for the film.

Look carefully and you can see the old Wanchai ferry pier in the bottom left of the lower picture. An additional picture below shows the ground floor of the hotel as Largo sneaks in.
