Felicity - Glory Annen (1978) - Great George Street, Causeway Bay

Another lost venue that was extremely popular in the day was he Pearl and Jade cinemas along Great George Street. Actually, the building they were in is still there and hasn't changed too much, it's the Pearl City Mansion building on the corner of Paterson Street. Those steps in the last image are still pretty much as they were.

Being part of the Shaw circuit, it's not surprise to see Brave Archer Part 2 being shown. According to wiki it was released on the 13th May 1978.

Heisser Hafen Hongkong - Horst Frank (1962) - Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay

Whoops! I missed this one when I was looking at Yee Wo Street just a few posts ago. The reason is because it is in the same sequence, just seen, as the car leaves the ferry pier and drives back up Jordan Road. The giveaway in this sequence of shots is the unmistakable presence of the Great George Building with its old Daimaru signs at the top. True fact: There are still red minibuses in HK that use "Daimaru" as a destination on their front sign boards, even though the pace closed many years ago.

So it looks as though the film posters were perhaps attached to scaffolding that was shielding the site of the -yet-to-be-constructed Hong Kong Mansion building on the corner of Gt. George Street, East Point Road and Yee Wo St. This means that funky curved building is the precursor to the modern day Island Beverley and the smaller buildings on the left are on the opposite side of East Point Road and were replaced by the old wing of the East Point Centre - which, of course, has hosted SOGO for many years.

Does anyone remember what was in that nice curved building? It's a really nice looking building and far more stylish with the big gold box that replaced it.

Shirley's World (TV Series) - Shirley MacLaine (1972) - Great George Street, Causeway Bay

The final scene where our friendly taxi driver manages to set up his own tailors along Great George Street in Causeway Bay.

In the lower picture, - at the back, underneath the red sign - is the Great George Building, once home to the much talked about Daimaru department store that closed in 1998 after nearly 40 years.

Edit: I forgot to include the other shots of Great George Street when I first posted this. Filmed outside Daimaru with a view to the other side of the street and the various shops there.

And finally a clip of the taxi pulling into Paterson Street. The building at the back is the one that Thomas mentioned in his comment (see comments below) most likely being the former Dairy Farm Depot. That small section of Paterson Street is now closed off and pedestrianised and the Hang Lung Centre sits on that site now.
