More taxi-based shots as it heads west along Harcourt Road near Admiralty Station. The taxi is passing under the pedestrian bridge that links the Admiralty Centre with Tamar Park/Central Government Office complex.

Asia-Pol Secret Service - Wang Yu (1966) - Harcourt Road, Central
After losing his target, Wang Yu hits the streets in his coupe to try and locate the girl from the bomb car. The following is taken from a driving scene as the car makes its way into Central along Harcourt Road. In the second image you can see the white, high block of City Hall in the distance which means the car was passing HMS Tamar at that point. The road is still a flyover here.

La Fine Dell'innocenza - Annie Belle (1976) - Harcourt Road, Central
Here's a nice view of Harcourt Road as the pair arrive at their hotel (the Furama, see next post). The interesting thing for me can be seen on the left hand side (lower image) where you can see the old dock buildings inside HMS Tamar that were replaced, not long after actually, by the former Prince of Wales building (now known as the "Chinese People's Liberation Army Forces Hong Kong Building"). On the right you can see the lower floors of the (now demolished) Hutchison House and Bank of America Tower (although at the time it was still called Gammon House).

Blood, Sand and Gold - Aaron Costa Ganis (2017) - Harcourt Road, Central
We had another post from Harcourt Road last week, this one is a night time shot taken a little further to the west which means you can see the pedestrian bridge from which the earlier post's image was taken from. This one is most likely taken from the bridge that connects the Admiralty Centre with the new Central Government Offices.

Blood, Sand and Gold - Aaron Costa Ganis (2017) - Harcourt Road, Central
One of several shots of general areas around Hong Kong that are supposed to establish that events have no moved back to the SAR. This is a view from the pedestrian bridge that crosses Harcourt Road on the way to the Central Govt office and CITIC building.
The smaller pale yellow building behind the trees on the right is the front of Caine House within the Police HQ compound on Arsenal Street. It's hard to believe that building essentially marks the old waterfront. Everything in front (i.e. to the left) is reclamation from the early 1970s and onwards.
Harcourt Road turns into Gloucester Road at Caine House.

The Protector - Jackie Chan (1985) - Far East Finance Centre, Hong Kong Island
In the film it's used as the location of the baddy's (Roy Chiao) evil HQ, but in reality it's the Far East Financial Centre - a gold-coloured skyscraper that has been sitting on the HK waterfront since 1982. Seeing as the film was made in 1985 then I guess the film makers thought it represented the modern look of HK. To be honest its bright gold colour may remind the locals of a bar of gold but to me it just looks a bit tacky.
