The boat that Marc catches a lift from takes him to some unknown small village by the sea and the various reviews/descriptions I have read of the film have described it as either Macau or Bali. This is because the seaside isn't usually something you associate with Hong Kong despite the fact that the territory is an archipelago of several hundred islands, most of which are uninhabited. Anyway, the real location used in the film was neither Macau nor Bali but in fact Ko Lau Wan in the far reaches of the north eastern New Territories.
Believe it or not this part of Sai Kung Country Park actually falls under the administrative care of Tai Po District - a fact largely centered on the historical anomaly that Tai Po was the most convenient market town for the inhabitants of this area to reach (and this is why the Sai Kung North Rural Affairs Committee building is also in Tai Po Market and not Sai Kung).
Anyway, I digress. Marc finds a small hotel and basically sticks around until his moustache grows back. By which time the film starts to get a bit confusing and it's hard to know if what we are watching is supposed to be real or part of his imagination. I think the ambiguity might be the point.

Lust, Caution - Tang Wei (2007) - Ma Tau Wan, High Island
I'm currently looking again at Lust, Caution and have found a few more locations that I missed following my initial, rather cursory, viewing. You can see the original posts here and here with updated screenshots.
One of the locations I had trouble finding initially was the nondescript beach where the would-be agents are practicing their marksmanship with pistols. This one took me an age to locate but I finally found it nestling on the southern coast of High Island in Sai Kung District. The beach doesn't appear to have a specific name but the maps refer to the general area as Ma Tau Wan (lit: horse head area) and actually, if you turn the map around, that part of High Island does actually resemble a horse's head!
If you want to see the exact location then click on the location label at the bottom on the post but for locals who are familiar with the general area then its quite near to the Sha Kiu Tau restaurants. From a filming point of view, the only way to get here is by boat - although if you aren't lugging around a ton of film equipment, you can hike to it from High Island reservoir road.

The Million Eyes of Sumuru - George Nader (1967) - Long Ke Wan, Sai Kung
Here's one for all those of you who think that HK is nothing but high rises and congested roads (although granted, that is what most people see when they come). The following sandy bay is the location where an errant Sumuru follower is executed after making the fatal mistake of falling for a man. Three bikini clad assassins are sent to "Italy" to do the job and this is where it goes down...supposedly on a secluded Italian beach.
In reality this isn't Italy but Sai Kung. Long Ke Wan to be precise. One of the many beach bays on the east coast of Sai Kung. As you can see it was absolutely beautiful back in 1967 - it still is actually, unless you get there on the weekend to witness the drunken hordes on their junk trips littering the place up.
Anyway, please feel free to revel in a time before hideous drunken hordes descended upon the place en masse.

Soldier, Soldier - Robson Green (1992) - Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung
Whoops! When I did this earlier post featuring Fuk Hing Bridge in Pak Tam Chung, I had yet to identify another location from the same episode (Lifelines) that has turned out to be just up the road from the Fuk Hing Bridge.
The "drain" is actually a cleverly disguised bridge that carries Tai Mong Tsai Road over the Lung Hang stream a little further north from the Fuk Hing Bridge. The props department for the show have constructed a fake concrete wall blocking the arch of the bridge and installed an authentic wire fence to make it look like the real closed border area. So I give the props department their..props! It had me fooled for a few days.
If you want to see the exact location on the map, just click on the location link at the bottom of the post.
The location is supposedly the border fence portion where the Illegal Immigrants break through what appears to be a large storm drain by using a car jack to bend the bars of the drain grill.
