Already Tomorrow In Hong Kong - Jamie Chung (2015) - Horizonte Lounge, Kowloon

I've had a bit of a brain fart and realised that this earlier shot over Yaumatei was taken at the very same spot where a later bar scene was filmed. In the second part of the film, when Josh and Ruby meet up again, Josh invites her for a drink at a rooftop bar and this was the Horizonte Lounge at the top of Hotel Madera.

Following on from this post, I suspect these shots were all done at the same time because if you turn the camera to the left at the junction of Nathan and Jordan Roads, you will get the view down Jordan Road that appears below.

Ruby has ordered a suit for her fiance and Josh offers to accompany her to pick it up. The location turns out to be Chungking Mansions.

Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong - Jamie Chung (2015) - Central Ferry Piers, Hong Kong

The Star ferry plays a role in the second part of the film because it is where Josh and Ruby bump into each other again and strike up their friendship from the previous year. The sequence starts off with an establishing shot of the main pier building before moving around the area as Josh makes his way to the ferry.

The last shot used in the first chapter of the film is another time-lapse, this time of a view from Tsim Sha Tsui across to Hong Kong Island. Probably a scene familiar with anyone who has stuck around for the evening harbour lights show.

This brief shot was taken from the junction of Nathan and Jordan Roads, looking north up Nathan Road. You can just make out the old Tai Lin sign on the facade of the building on the right (just to the right of the pink/yellow sign for the Kum Loong Hotel). I'm not sure if any of these large street signs exist anymore?

Anyway, the area also crops up in a later part of the film, but seen from a different angle or two. The second image is taken from more or less the same area but from the vantage point of the pavement, and the lower image is from the next block down but looking back up Nathan Road from the other direction, so it includes many of the same business signs.

This brightly lit spot is actually on Portland Street where it intersects with Changsha Street. I imagine fair amount of protection money was paid to film here because it is basically gangster central (the triads run all the karaoke bars here).

A familiar sight to anyone that followed my Strangers/White Dragon posts last year. They should be able to recognise the pedestrian walkway that sits above Mongkok Road. This looks like it was shot from the top of the Fa Yuen Street exit (which you can see the bottom of on the lower right).

Another of the shots that closes the first part of the film is this one of Connaught Road Central. You can see the side of the Hong Kong Club on the left. The green section seen through the overhead road sign is the garden that surrounds the Cenotaph.

Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong - Jamie Chung (2015) - Percival Street, Causeway Bay

There are a few more interesting shots taken at street level that mark the end of the first part of the movie (it's split into two sections, the first half is when they first meet, the second half is a year later and they bump into each other again). This one was taken along Percival Street right at the junction with Russell Street/Matheson Street.
