There's a very brief moment when we get a quick view down Gough Street during all the fighting. In this case the location is given away by the presence of a branch of Kisses Cupcakes on the corner with Mee Lun Street. As far as I can tell the branch has since disappeared but they do have other locations should you be cupcake inclined.
The small red signpost is still around though.

Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteThe current Street View is dated 2011, before the Government banned the data collection of the Google Car. It had since not been updated.
I guess the Cupcake store wasn't in Street View back then. I was on Gough Street a few months ago but was uncertain if there is still a cubcape store around.

Hi Thomas
DeleteI hadn't realised the car had been banned! Oh well. The cupcake store has moved already I think. This Gough St location is no longer listed as a branch.
Cheers
Phil
Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteThe Google Car was banned for collecting WiFi data as least. Google had admitted that. In the past two years I have only read Google had recruited some hikers to map some of the trails around with the backpack version. The pack is 40+ lbs and could be quite tough for the bearer.

Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteJust checked Google Maps. It seems only some of the Hiking Trails on the Island had been covered so far. I believe there might still be glitches as I spotted a few mistakes of the names of the trails. Take a look at this: https://goo.gl/maps/Uvvm6oBagNr

I see what you mean, but I guess it's better than nothing. I'm sure it will improve over time. Would love to volunteer though ;-)
DeleteHi Phil,
ReplyDeleteI found a blog piece talking about it: https://hkfiles.wordpress.com/2014/04/25/google-street-view-trekker-comes-to-hong-kong/
