Another view of the previous version of 17 Magazine Gap Road. In this view, looking from the east end of the podium to the west, it's possible to make out the kinked shape of the balustrade at the other end. If you go to the Magazine Heights development today (current version of #17) then you will see the current development has a different shape podium but the original retaining wall is visible from the road complete with the original kink. For a later view from the other end of the site then we can go back and look at this image from Black Cobra Woman - filmed in 1976 with the current building.

More from 17 Magazine Gap Road in the Jumping Dragon episode. This time the original property podium level is quite obvious. In fact, if you pass the current occupant of 17 Magazine Gap Road today, Magazine Heights, and look up, you can see this original podium level is visible from the road. The current property sits on a new version that is a little higher up, but the original retaining wall to this podium was left in-situ and can be seen from roadside. It was one of the features that helped me determine this was the correct location from 1960 aerial photographs.

I know that I already posted a picture of this place from the previous episode, but this image is slightly clearer and taken in daylight as opposed to the earlier darker one (either taken later or most likely with a filter on the camera lens). Anyway, there aren't too many pictures of this place around since it was demolished later the same decade. Look closely and you can see the balustrade that surrounded the podium level. We get to see it close up in a later episode.

In the show, Taylor's character, Glenn Evans, lives in a rather swish modern low rise apartment block. In several of the episodes a well used shot of the place is used for establishment purposes and , after a bit of digging around, it turns out that the apartment block in question was the precursor to the current Magazine Heights (which incidentally, I covered not that long ago for Black Cobra Woman).

According to Gwulo.com, this building was constructed at 17 Magazine Gap Road in 1950 and was demolished in circa 1967 when it made way for the current Magazine Heights development. You can see a distant view of it (marked as 9a) here.

There is some other footage of this place, or at least its podium, but you'll have to wait until episode 6 for that.
