I Feng Mansion has cropped up in quite a few places. In this film, it is supposed to be the rooftop above where Dr Bergman (Hugo Weaving) lives. Apparently, to make something a bit more futuristic, all you have to do is add some lights.

The Confidence Man JP: The Movie - Masami Nagasawa (2019) - I-Feng Mansions, To Kwa Wan
I mentioned how I thought the crew behind The Confidence Man JP: The Movie might have copied Transformers: Age of Extinction, and here's why: the rooftop scenes supposedly based above the gang's hostel HQ in Quarry Bay, were actually shot at I-Feng Mansions in To Kwa Wan.This is the exact same building rooftop used by Michael Baye for the Transformer's shoot. Weird eh? It wouldn't surprise me if the two films used the same or similar local crews, either that or someone from the HK shoot had read my old blog posts about the rooftop switcheroo that Baye pulled in Transformers.

Yellowthread Street (TV Series) - Bruce Payne (1990) - I Feng Mansion, To Kwa Wan
Another discovery from looking again at Yellowthread Street has revealed this location from the sixth episode, Fan Tan Man. It's I Feng Mansion in To Kwa Wan and by the looks at it we are looking through the gap between Blocks C and D towards the front of Mei King Mansion facing Lok Shan Road

Push - Chris Evans (2009) - I-Feng Mansion, To Kwa Wan
The residents of I-Feng Mansion in To Kwa Wan must be rubbing their hands together in anticipation whenever an overseas film company announces it will be filming in Hong Kong. We've seen this building twice before on this blog courtesy of Contagion and then Transformers. In Push, this is the building where Chris Evans' character is in hiding from "the department".

Transformers: Age of Extinction - Mark Wahlberg (2104) - To Kwa Wan Part 3 - I Feng Mansions, To Kwa Wan
Here's where the film makers did something a bit sneaky. They took a roof top (actually in Quarry Bay as you'll see in later posts) and set much of the action in HK on there. But rather than stay at the one location they also included footage from another (less cluttered) rooftop and sort of chopped and changed between the two. To the untrained eye it all looks to be the same place but what we end up with is two very different background skylines made more confusing by the amount of CGI obscuring many places. It's a bit of a mish-mash but cleverly done to disguise the different locations.
Anyway, one of the rooftops - the more open/less cluttered one - is on top of I-Feng Mansion at the end of the previously posted Mei King Street in To Kwa Wan. All of the following shots are actually on I-Feng Mansion's rooftop.
The grabs above show the view to the southwest. When I first saw this I thought the arched building at the back was perhaps computer generated, but it turns out it actually exists! It's called 'Chatham Gate' and is new (only opened in 2012). That's probably why I didn't recognise it immediately.
The box like structure (with ladder) top left of the upper picture here seems to have been a prop because I can't see it on GoogleEarth, although the other detail can be clearly seen. I suspect it was the bit that was shot up later in the scene, but I can't remember...
The above pictures are looking north(ish) moving NW to NE. The high rise at the back (right) are 'Grand Waterfront' near to the Ma Tau Kok piers.
Finally a view looking pretty much westward towards to green of Ho Man Tin at the back. I think the problem was perhaps logistical - the original rooftop over in Quarry Bay is completely cluttered with illegal tin huts and to remove them all would mean compensating lots of people for the (temporary) loss of their homes/shacks. Moving the actual action over to a more open rooftop probably saved a fair amount of money and hassle.

Transformers: Age of Extinction - Mark Wahlberg (2014) - To Kwa Wan Part 2 - Lok Shan Road, To Kwa Wan
Just off Lok Shan Road is the tail end of Mei King Street that runs down towards I-Feng Mansions. Contagion was filmed here in 2011 and this film has some fairly similar angles as the Autobots leap down from the building and generally blow stuff up in the surrounding area.

Contagion - Matt Damon (2011) - Lok Shan Road, To Kwa Wan
As I tidy up a few long forgotten loose ends, I found one from Contagion. I remember my Hung Hom based buddy telling me that Contagion was filming just around the corner from him but then couldn't remember where it was done. It turns out it was down a small alleyway off Lok Shan Road and Mei King Street. It's where the infected waiter seems to live.
The buildings in question, seen above, are all part of I-Feng Mansions and can be seen on the Streetview taken from Lok Shan Road below - this is the closest I can get via Google. Remember this area because we will come back to it at a later date when looking at Transformers 4.
