The motorcade pops out of the other end of the tunnel and makes it's way around the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter as it heads along the Eastern Island Corridor to its unknown destination.

Crossing Hennessy - Jacky Cheung (2010) - Island Eastern Corridor, Quarry Bay

They drive together through the rain along the Island Eastern Corridor towards Man-Yu's new studio site. Harbour View Gardens can be seen on the right.

Several parts of the car pursuit scene were filmed along the Island Eastern Corridor highway on Hong Kong Island.

Police Story - Jackie Chan (1985) - Island Eastern Corridor, Causeway Bay

After having Salina's car trashed by the real hoodlums, Ka Kui offers to take her back to his place, so he drives her wrecked car along the highway to get home. The stretch of road he drives along is the Island Eastern Corridor. Chan fans might recognise this section of road as where Chan and Chris Tucker are stranded with no clothes on in Rush Hour 2. The only thing that has changed is the signage.

Rush Hour 2 - Jackie Chan (2001) - Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, Hong Kong

Causeway Bay Typhoon shelter actually pops up several times throughout the film. The first time is during the opening credits as an establishing shot (top picture), but also when Carter and Lee are dumped naked on the highway (second shot) - the road is the Island Eastern Corridor and you can see the shelter area at the back. In fact the same overhead road sign board can be seen in both pictures.

The final appearance of the typhoon shelter is when the action moves to the yacht. The pier at which the boat is berthed is actually the eastern edge of the shelter. There is a misleading sign on the left which states we are at North Point Pier, but it's lying (like a cheap watch).

Actually, the area where Lee (played by Chan) used the polystyrene box to board the boat is still around but is currently covered in construction works for the Wanchai bypass reclamation. The wooden piles seen on film can still be seen on Google Earth, but it's unclear how much of the area will stay the same once the reclamation is complete. If you look closely at the lower picture, you can see the underside of the Eastern Island Corridor highway in the top right.

Yellowthread Street (TV Series) - Bruce Payne (1990) - Island Eastern Corridor, Hong Kong

Some action shots from Key Witness as the cops, Eden and Marenta (played by Bruce Payne and Robert Taylor, respectively), attempt a stakeout with some rudimentary disguises (i.e. silly hats). We get some shots of them driving along in Eden's muscle car including some shots of the Island Eastern Corridor at various places including...1. just past the North Point Fire Station (you can see the training tower on the right).

The contemporary view from Streetview reveals rather a large amount of development around this area, although the fire station (and the overhead road sign) are still around.

A few seconds later and they also pass the City Garden residential development (that's it on the right of the screen).

We also see them driving past the now demolished North Point Estate (razed in 2003), so I guess we have a little bit of North Point history preserved forever on screen (although I am sure this isn't the only bit of cinema/TV that has featured it before). The space it occupied is actually still just empty at the moment (or at least it is on Streetview, I don't know if any construction has been started there yet).

A bit further on we see the car drive past the huge slab of concrete that goes by the name of Provident Garden. To be honest, this place is very...ugly, but probably has some of the best harbour views to be had in this part of the island - right on the harbourfront.

And finally, back the other way as the road curves around into the Quarry Bay section of North Point. That's Kwun Hoi Mansion in the last pic on the right.
