Karate from Shaolin Temple - Kazuma Kenji (1976) - Causeway Road, Wanchai

Another shot of the car on its way to the boss's house, except this time we are heading back in towards Wanchai. This is the view looking east along Causeway Road. The building in the background left (with the sign) should be the Hung On Building located on the corner of King's Road and Tin Hau Temple Road.

Hong Kong (series) - Rod Taylor (1960) - Causeway Road, Causeway Bay

This quick sequence showing Evans' car driving in the westbound lane of Causeway Road is used for the first time in this episode, To Catch a Star. The large monolithic building in the left background is the former Causeway Bay magistracy, built in a very similar style to the North Kowloon Magistracy on Tai Po Road that now houses the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), with its long vertical window openings. This isn't surprising given that both buildings were built around the same time, the only difference is that this one was demolished sometime in the late 1980s and "Park Towers" built on the site.

This snippet was used again in future episodes 12, 18, and 19 - The Dragon Cup, Double Jeopardy and Lady Godiva, respectively.

Jason King (TV Series) - Peter Wyngarde (1972) - Causeway Road, Hong Kong

Another establishing shot - the only type in this program - taken from Causeway Road looking back towards Yee Wo St and Causeway Bay. The first picture shows us looking west along the road and the building on the left is the Bay View Mansion - still around today, but now between the camera and the building is the newer (Urban Council-built) Central Library.

After the tram has passed we get a quick zoom towards Yee Wo Street in the distance and the camera settles on the building you can see in the second picture. It's the San Kei Tower building and this one is also still around - it's right next to the circular walkway that now sits above Yee Wo Street with the junction of Pennington Street.

Forced Vengeance - Chuck Norris (1982) - Tung Lo Wan Road, Causeway Bay

A latecomer from this film (this always seems to happen - a late identification) which involves part of the chase scene when Chuck and the gang get off the ferry and walk the streets. The problem is that despite the fact that they have boarded the ferry on HK-side and get off Kowloon Side, all of a sudden we are back HK-side looking at the corner of Tung Lo Wan Road where it intersects with Causeway Road/Leighton Road.

I've had to go back a couple of years inside GoogleMaps to find a decent picture because the current one shows the building in scaffolding with the neon signs removed. But go back a couple of years and we get the following view.

Look carefully and you can see that in 2011 (when this picture was taken) the neon sign that says PALWA in the film grab was still in evidence - albeit with a different business name inside the sign. But the outside shape is the same double parallelogram shape. The business with the pink neon signs is also still listed at the same address. The big characters actually say "通惠" (Tung Wai) and related to the lighting shop underneath who's full name was: 通惠電業公司 (you can just make out the name on the shop in the film). These days it seems to have adopted an English version.
